Many Dreams Dream-Catchers--All dreams, large and small, even those you judge to be "bad," lead you toward your True Nature.  Your many dreams dance and play in the gardens of the spirit world beyond and within the illusion of "reality."  Ready to explore new worlds of becoming, you can call forth many new dreams.  When your heart is open and free, all things are possible. Then you can be the playful connection between Mother Earth and Father Sky and dream the Spirals into balance to dance in harmony in the Web of Life. 

"Dad, I need a dream-catcher.  I'm having terrible dreams night after night." 

I sent him one of my dream-catchers and a little more than a week later he called again. 

"I don't think the dream-catcher is working, Dad.  I'm still having terrible dreams." 

"Perhaps the dreams that you think are terrible are trying to tell you something. Usually it's something that you need to know before you have to experience when you're awake.  Start writing down your dreams as soon as you wake up.  Then look at them carefully to see if they're useful." 

A week later he called again.  "You're right, Dad.  The dreams that I thought were bad were just warning me of dangers and problems.  Things that could happen to me each day." 

"Great!  Sometimes we judge our dreams and experiences to be bad instead of looking at them with openness.  More often they bring gifts of wisdom if we can rise above the clouds of illusion to see beyond the commonplace."

We have returned from Quest. The type of Quest that we do is not a Native Traditional Quest. It is a Month of Questing, seeking and finding. It is a shadow dance of self and how Spirit speaks to each of us and we end our asking with a physical Quest overnight.

I would like to share the understandings that I believe have come to me as a result of this time of seeking.

With each Quest many lessons come. Enlightenment and awakenings of self and how Spirit works with us and others. Often the lessons that come to me parallel with the lessons that are coming to the group that Quests and visa versa. I have found that if we observe the events that happen to the group as well as ourselves we learn much.

This is what I have learned:

Creator lives and moves within everything. (this is not news to any of us) :-) Transforming this knowledge using the Medicine of the North into wisdom helps me to understand that no matter where we are, if we ask, the answers will be sent. It is not Spirit that chooses our time to Quest or our circle for Quest, he is as always around us in everything. It is the comfort and readiness within us that does the choosing.

In this same right Creator does not choose our questions. We do the asking and he responds with the lessons. We spend much time listening for the voice of Spirit and his directive, and at the same time he is listening to us. His directives will be relative to the seeking and voice of our hearts. Sometimes we are not clear on what our hearts are asking. The confusion if it exists is our own.

Thus the visit of Coyote medicine. He comes to reveal the actual question in our hearts. He uses his trickster medicine to force the surrender of the minds voice to the voice of the heart. And so he does not arrive until our hearts have asked the question. This is why the lessons do not come until we are ready for the answers. It is the voice of heart and mind, within this confusion that calls in the medicine of Coyote.

And so when does the Quest begin and when does it end and who decides when it is time to Quest? Us or Spirit? When we seek and begin the asking our Quest has begun. This is us. When we are done asking, Quest ends. This is us. When do we stop asking? We stop asking when we are satisfied with the lessons of the time and become comfortable again within ourselves or until we tire of our own questions. This is us. Then where is Spirit in our Quest? Spirit will continue to send answers if we continue to ask.

When confusion returns and once again we begin to mix the voice of mind and heart and Spirit, we will begin to ask again.

In all events we have a choice. Spirit allows us this. We must accept our choices as our own and not use Spirit as a crutch because we are afraid to accept our choice or make a choice. Sometimes our answer from Spirit is the actual choice. And so if afraid to choose we will continue to ask and he will continue to send. We must be careful to accept responsibility for the asking and for our choices.

And so, no matter where we are, if we ask, the answers will be sent. It is not Spirit that chooses our time to Quest or our circle for Quest, he is as always around us in everything. It is the comfort and readiness within us that does the choosing.

And so as in the way and medicine of the wheel, it begins here and it ends here and it begins again. There is no receiver and no giver for we are all the receiver and we are all the giver.

I think today this is what I have learned of Spirit, of myself, and of this way. My lessons and my understanding of this may change in the future. I am grateful for today's understanding and I apologize to Spirit and my ancestors for what I may have not learned yet of this way.
